The Murphy Bed stay leveled desk hardware is a new product that allows any with to add a desk to a new or existing DIY Murphy Bed. This hardware can be used with any size Easy DIY Murphy bed hardware kits, and most other DIY Murphy beds that uses the piston mechanism. The hardware is easy to install and comes with everything in the package required to set up the desk on any wall bed. You just need to purchase the lumber to build the desk top board. The hardware comes with a full lifetime warranty.

After completing twin vertical and horizontal beds with ease I decided to put a desk on the vertical one. The desk kit installed as advertised and I found all the construction guides very easy to follow. We turned a very small spare bedroom into a workable area with two beds. I will include a couple of pics of final results.

Interference with the leveling rod and the desk support bracket does not allow the desk to remain level when the bed is opened.

In the Installation guide for the self-leveling desk, pages 9 and 10 show drawings of the shelf lower plate on the outside of the bed cabinet. The plate should be on the inside of the bed cabinet (like on pages 12 and 14).
Everything else is clear and step by step!

Hi Mark thank you for leaving a comment regarding the desk plate placement. Pages 9 and 10 illustrate the marking of the desk plate on the cabinet. The steps shown are for marking the 2 1/4″ holes on the cabinet so they can be drilled. Then the plate get mounted on the inside like you pointed out on pages 12 and 14. have a great day and thank you again.

Good shelf. Be careful not to let it get too deep. I started with it at 18″, then cut it down to 12.” Turns out that when it is deep, you put too many heavy things on it, then the bed wants to open too easily. So I am happier with 12″ and it works and gives me plenty of extra desktop space.

I’ve built several Murphy beds & this was the 1st with the stay level desk. Just like all your other products, it was great. Easy to follow instructions made it a breeze.

The DIY hardware kit is first class. The instructions are clear and the support videos are excellent. The only advice is to be very precise in measuring for the cylinder hardware installation. The cylinders are not adjustable in length and if you are off at all it is hard to clip them on. I recessed the pivot axel 3/4 of an inch to allow for pine finishing and I had difficulty.

Sturdy and well constructed. Good customer service and quick delivery. Installation is finicky for non DIY brand beds. Very difficult to get desktop perfectly level in both the up and down positions despite carefully measuring and following instructions. Having it perfectly level when the bed is down is not that important to me so I am still satisfied with the product.

I’d like to to see the brace to be adjustable to accommodate desk height in the the lower bracket has to be precisely located and top slot has to be adjusted to obtain leval.

Great product — but more importantly as I did not have a murphy bed that was using the Easy DYI hardware they made extra sure that their desk hardware would fit my bed. It took a number of emails but I so appreciated the extra due diligence to make sure I recieved a product that would fit — it did and works like a charm — great Job and highly recommend for both service and product
