This Murphy bed Hardware kit will fit a Queen size mattress sized 80 inches long by 60 inches wide or smaller, weighing between 50 to 85 lbs. Your mattress should be less than 12 inches thick in order to be able to use the optional leg cross bar. This is a horizontal wall-mounted hardware kit, meaning the bed cabinet mounts to the wall at the top. The bed cabinet sits sideways.
Hardware parts come with a full lifetime warranty, meaning we will replace any defective hardware parts for free of charge as long as you own your DIY Murphy Bed.

This was a really fun project. I’m not super confident with woodworking and don’t have many tools so I had Home Depot cut all the wood for me. You have to really watch them and double measure everything to make sure they do it right, but other than that this was a breeze. I did make a few mistakes so one thing I will say is really make sure you watch the videos AND read the book and don’t jump ahead until you’re 100% confident you’ve completed that step right. Very well laid out program I would do it again. Thank YOu!!!

I have just started the cutting and construction so its hard to give this a fair review right now. I will say that the instruction manuals plus the video back up on the website are superb. It is turning out to be a lot of work but I’m sure that it will be worth it.

I haven’t finished the project yet but it’s been great, so far. I love the feedback and response to the questions that I have had. I’m not used to that. In Florida it’s rare to get any response from any company. Customer service skills are non-existent here. The kit, instructions, and resources available even before the kit arrived were overall good. However, you would have to notice that the content in the videos and the instructions a few times don’t match.
My suggestion before starting with anything, read and watch all the videos at least once. It will take you longer but depending on the configuration of your package and where you install your Easy DIY Murphy Bed you might have to pick one over a different configuration.

The parts we purchased were perfect. The plans and instructions made for fairly easy assembly. I did have to hire a handyman for some of the work. Great kit. This is my first one, there are a few things I would modify or improve on for the next one but this is excellent for a beginner or DIY. I have an 11″ mattress and would love to close this with the blanket/pillows but it’s not happening. I’m right at the mattress height but do your homework and be ready to adapt to your needs. DiY customer service is great and very attentive. Don’t cheap out on wood and plan to spend most of the time with prep (sanding/stain or paint & sealant) after wood is cut and drilled. I will trim this out so it’s not so flat and blends in better when closed. This bed works, is functional-fit for purpose- economical and gets so many compliments already. Thank you DIY, will recommend.

Very easy to follow. The only thing that I would advise would be if you use veneer covered plywood is watch your cuts and drilling your holes. It is very easy to splinter off the veneer.

I really enjoyed using this kit in my murphy bed project. The instructions were easily to understand with detailed support through videos and printed instructions. My project wasn’t the typical installation as it involved adding a 75″ flat screen and sound bar to the face of the bed. The plans were altered and tweaked within CAD and getting a new track saw at Christmas made working with the panels so easy. The project is entirely of cherry plywood and hardwood with a pop out bedside table on the left and media / gaming systems stored away in cabinets on the right. Wiring was protected and tidied up using corrugated cable tubing.

The instructions were some of the best I have ever worked with and it was a fun project. I used finished Birch plywood
One thing: in section nine (mounting the face panels) there seems to be a mistake. It instructs to make a scribe line on the footer end of the bed frame. I did so and mounted the frame to te face panels with that 3/4″ gap on the top. (and flush on the header end).
This seemed okay till I wanted to install the cabinet top stopper (items GA and BG). If I would have installed it the bed wouldn’t have opened as it was ‘stuck’ behind the stopper. I turned the stopper upside down and installed an extra 3/4″ on top of the side panels. It works great that way.

I built this for my camp, and replaced a large set of twin bunk beds. The instructions were very clear, and the measurements were well laid out. Because I built the queen size, it is a 2 person job to move the bed around when building it, and moving it around. I had everything cut, stained, and finished, then brought up to my camp, where it was assembled. A fully completed bed would be very heavy to move around, so it would have to be built close to where you will attach it to the wall. I would recommend this hardware kit to anyone looking to build a bed.
