Thank you! I am so glad I found this. My mom used to bake these every year for Christmas, they were my Dad’s favorite. I got the recipie from Mom a few years ago, but never could get them to turn out right. Reading through your recipie, I found the issue. When I wrote down the recipie from Mom, I somehow wrote 1 1/4 cups of flour instead of 2 1/4 cups. Can’t wait until I try these again, but I’m sure that was the whole problem.

Delicious cookies!!! I substituted the vanilla extract with maple extract and added chocolate chips plus thr pecans and they are really delicious! It’s late June and I’m practicing Christmas cookies recipes now and this will be on my list! Thank you!
