One if the things I really struggled to find when I came to Dubai was a good hairdresser and from reading about other peoples experiences I know I am not alone in this.
I guess I was lucky back home in the UK. I had found a salon which I loved quite easily and had been a regular for a long time. Though I always had different stylists and colour technicians at the salon they were all trained in the same academy which the salon operated and as a result of this the cut and colour was always consistent and reliable. They had a loyalty scheme too which was a great incentive to keep going back. In addition to the hairdressing side of the business they also had a small beauty salon attached and just as importantly for me, a drinks menu – yes I know !! – but I am really coffee fan, so a drink menu offering a full selection of hot coffees was just the ‘icing on the cake’ so to speak.
So when I moved to Dubai, just over 3 years ago, I expected to find a new hairdressers really quickly, one which would give a good cut and colour and which I could become loyal to. Easy you might think – Not so in reality. I have had some truly dreadful experiences whilst I’ve been here – from the big posh and very expensive salons to the more reasonably priced salons, I’ve rarely ever wanted to go back to the salon again – and most of these were referrals from friends and colleagues ! I get a sense that most people had settled for the best of the worse and that was about it. Some of my pals were even choosing to only get their hair done when they fly home to the UK !
The salon is situated in Indigo Tower in JLT and provides all the usual services you expect from a salon here – hairdressing, manicure and pedicures as well as facials, waxings and massages etc.
I’ve visited the salon about eight times now (which speaks volumes – if you’ll pardon the pun!) and each time I go I get a great colour and cut, a really professional blow dry as well a a treat manicure/pedicure. This is a team, who really know what they are doing and manage to tease my bleached blond and (err shall we say silver! ) hair back into great shape every time I see them.
Often they have a monthly offer on so some or all of the services described are included in that offer which is a great incentive to stay loyal to them.
Sadly, there is no extensive coffee menu but they do serve tea and coffee to their clients.
