Perfect Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

This easy pie recipe has only 5 ingredients and is super chocolatey. It’s no bake too, which I love. It’s so easy you don’t need an oven or microwave and you don’t even need a stand mixer (or any mixer at all) you just make this with a large bowl and a whisk!

This recipe is a combination of my favorite chocolate cream pie and peanut butter pie. This chocolate and peanut butter filling really is so good! It is so simple and it comes together in just under 10 minutes. This pie really is a masterpiece!

slice of chocolate pie on white plate with bite missing.

Ingredients Needed

  • Chocolate Pudding: Use Instant chocolate pudding mix!
  • Milk: Nonfat or regular – it must be cows milk for the pudding to set up.
  • Peanut Butter: No-stir peanut butter works best (not natural peanut butter), I like Skippy or Jif.
  • Cool Whip: You can use regular, light, sugar-free, or any brand. Using whipped topping makes this so easy.
  • Oreo Crust: Use my homemade one or buy one at the store.

How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie

  • Whisk pudding mix and milk, then whisk in peanut butter. Mixture will be thick. Fold in half a container of Cool Whip.
  • Pour and spread mixture in prepared chocolate cookie crust. Cover and chill 4 hours or overnight. Before serving, spoon remaining Cool Whip over the top of the peanut butter mixture and sprinkle with chopped peanut butter cups.

My Favorite Crust Recipes

You can buy a pre-made crust at the grocery store or make your own. There are so many no bake crusts out there that would also taste perfect with this pie:

To make your own crust, it’s best to have the finest crumbs possible so your crust sticks together. I like crushing the cookies using a food processor. Then stir the crumbs with melted butter and press into a 9-inch pie pan.

Expert Tips

  • If you find your pie didn’t set properly, this is typically due to mixing it too much and the cool whip/whipped cream breaks. Therefore, make sure to fold it slowly. Usually I do not have this issue with cool whip!
  • I like to garnish this pie with broken peanut butter cups or chocolate chips. You can use Reese’s Pieces, but they’ll bleed into the topping.
  • How to make this with freshly whipped cream: beat 1 1/2 cups heavy cream with 2 tablespoons powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Gently fold half into the chocolate layer – if the whipped cream isn’t stiff enough or breaks your pie will be loose.

These cereal bars are some of my favorites to make because of how simple they are! Rice Krispie Treats are a classic, but they can be made with just about any cereal. These treats are perfect for kids and adults for any time of the year, but especially during the St. Patties Day season! They’re easy to make, no bake, with a gooey crunchy texture – you’re going to love them!

BEST Peanut Butter Bars Recipe

I have been craving White Chocolate Reese’s Peanut Butter cups a ton lately. I didn’t think I’d like them because I don’t love white chocolate, but once I tried them I couldn’t stop eating them. And this recipe was born!

I have several peanut butter bar recipes on this site, like peanut butter pretzel bars, made with pretzels, and Reese’s Bars made with Ritz crackers. I was out of both of those things so these double peanut butter bars are made with graham cracker crumbs – and topped with white chocolate just like my favorite candy. Peanut butter lovers are going to love this recipe!

ingredients in no bake peanut butter bars laid out on a marble counter.

Ingredients Needed

  • Peanut Butter – obviously!! I use a no-stir (not natural) peanut butter, like Skippy or Jif.
  • Graham Cracker Crumbs – you can crush sheets of graham crackers yourself in a food processor or with a rolling pin in a ziploc bag, or buy a box of crumbs. You want fine crumbs so they mix in evenly.
  • Powdered Sugar – We add this for sweetness and to help bind the mixture.
  • White Chocolate Chips – These will be the topping with a little extra peanut butter so they slice nicely – it’s what makes them taste like Reese’s peanut butter cups!

Be sure to see the recipe card below for full ingredients & instructions!

How to make Peanut Butter Bars

  • Mix melted butter and peanut butter in a large bowl. I used a hand mixer, but you can use a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment.
  • Add graham cracker crumbs and confectioners’ sugar and mix until combined.
  • Press peanut butter mixture into a 9×9-inch pan lined with foil.
  • Melt the white chocolate and remaining peanut butter in a medium bowl and spread over the top of the peanut butter layer. Chill to set the chocolate layer.

Tip From Dorothy

Expert Tips

  • For thinner bars you can use a 9×13-inch pan, but I like them thick.
  • Be sure to line your pan with foil or parchment paper for easy removal.
  • It’s best to heat white chocolate chips at 50% power and stir after every 30 seconds so you don’t burn it.
  • You can also use chunky peanut butter if you want.

Chocolate Strawberry Footballs

These treats are the best for any football party, but especially for super bowl Sunday since it’s right before Valentine’s Day! Chocolate covered strawberry footballs are so simple to make – they are a favorite party food because everyone loves chocolate covered strawberries and I feel like they’re a great dessert because they’re sweet but also light – I mean, it’s just fruit, right?

Make these for your Super Bowl party – or any game day – and they’ll be gone before halftime. Kids love these too!

Ingredients Needed

  • Chocolate – It’s important to use a good quality chocolate, like baking chocolate or candy melts. I prefer Ghirardelli candy melts, which you can find in the baking aisle. You’ll want semi-sweet chocolate or milk chocolate melts.
  • White Candy Melts: You’ll need some white for the laces. I don’t recommend white chocolate chips because they struggle to melt sometimes. You can also use white icing (like buttercream frosting).
  • Strawberries: Be sure to grab fresh ripe berries with healthy green stems. The larger the stem the easier it is to dip!

How to make Football Chocolate Covered Strawberries

  • Wash the strawberries and dry in a kitchen towel until completely dry.
  • Melt the milk chocolate and white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowls on 50% power in 30 second increments, stirring between each, for about a 2-3 minutes until completely melted.
  • Prepare a baking sheet with a sheet of parchment paper or wax paper.
  • Hold the strawberries by the leaves and dip them into the melted chocolate. Tap off the excess chocolate. Place on prepared pan and allow to harden.
  • Melt the white chocolate and add to a piping bag or sandwich bag. Cut off a very small tip and pipe the football laces: a long middle line and 3-4 small lines crossing them on the front of your berry.
  • Refrigerate until the chocolate is set.
hand holding chocolate covered strawberries with white laces drawn on top with green sprinkles underneath.

Expert Tips

  • Make sure your strawberries are full dry for the chocolate to stick the best. Any water left on the berries will seize the chocolate.
  • You want to melt your chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. You can use a glass bowl, but I like using paper bowl for easy cleanup. You can also use a microwave safe coffee mug.
  • If you prefer, you can melt the chocolate in a double boiler on the stovetop over medium heat.
  • If your chocolate has trouble melting, add a few drops of canola oil or vegetable oil to help it along.
  • These would also be a fun topper for football cakes or cupcakes!
  • Easily make baseballs (with white and red candy melts) or basketballs (with orange and black melts) in the same manner.

Learn How to make chocolate covered strawberries!

Chocolate covered strawberries are a favorite in our house. My daughter loves them as dessert or snack all year long – but traditionally they’re made for Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day. The recipe for how to make these is so simple, but it’s good to have a few tricks up your sleeve because working with chocolate can be finicky!

To get the ultimate homemade chocolate covered strawberries you’ll need to know a few tips and tricks. In this chocolate dipped strawberry recipe, you’ll learn:

  • How to prep the strawberries, so they look beautiful once dipped.
  • Which is the best chocolate to use for dipping
  • How to decorate chocolate covered strawberries with some of my favorite topping ideas
  • How to store chocolate covered strawberries
  • How to not eat them all. Just kidding, I can’t help you with that!
ingredients in chocolate covered strawberries

Ingredients needed for dipped strawberries

  • Strawberries: You want fresh ripe strawberries – red with no spots and healthy large green leaves.
  • Semi-sweet chocolate: I find it easier to use baking bars or melts. You can also use milk chocolate. I do not recommend using chocolate chips. My favorite melts are Guirardelli, which you can find in the baking aisle.
  • White chocolate: you can use milk chocolate if you prefer but I love the pop of color the white chocolate gives
  • Coconut or chopped nuts (optional): for toppings. You can also use mini chocolate chips, sprinkles, or extra chocolate for drizzling. The toppings are optional, but they add texture and flavor plus they’re a little extra fancy to make the strawberries unique!

How to melt chocolate for strawberries

You can melt the chocolate on a stovetop using a double boiler or in the microwave, which is my preferred method.

  • Use 50% power when melting candy melts or baking bars. If your chocolate is struggling to melt, you can add a bit of vegetable or coconut oil to help it melt easier.
  • Make sure to use a microwave-safe bowl to melt your chocolate. You can use a plastic or glass bowl, but I love using paper bowls for easy cleanup.
  • Stir in 30-second intervals to avoid scorching the chocolate.
  • Get all my tips for how to melt chocolate and how to dip without tears, including learning how I use a griddle to keep my chocolate warm.

How to make chocolate covered strawberries

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Wash your berries in an inch of water and then pat them dry with a paper towel. Your fruit needs to be completely dry before dipping or the chocolate will seize.
  2. Hold a strawberry by its stem and dip it in the chocolate mixture. Add the topping while the chocolate is still wet, so the topping adheres.
  3. Decorate (optional): drizzle or add toppings
  4. Refrigerate: place the baking dish in the refrigerator until the chocolate sets

Expert Tips:

Melted chocolate can be a fussy thing, so I always use baking bars or chocolate melts to make these strawberries. They’re designed for melting and handling, and won’t melt as fast in your fingers like chocolate chips would.

How do you get chocolate to stick to strawberries? Make sure your strawberries are fully dry, free of water and at room temp. This way the moisture won’t keep the chocolate from sticking. Be sure to dry your strawberries really well before dipping

You can decorate with anything you like – drizzles of leftover chocolate, or use chopped pistachios, pecans, almonds, or even toffee bits.

Store leftover strawberries in the fridge for up to one day. These will start to weep after about 24 hours.

These Football Rice Krispie Treats are the best dessert to make for game day! They are bite sized and just like classic Rice Krispies Treats but made into a football shape – perfect for that football lover in your life.

mini Rice Krispie treats in the shape on footballs with brown and white frosting on top to resembles a football on a field.

Super Bowl Rice Krispie Treats

Rice Krispie Treats are always made with easy ingredients and this recipe is no different! Once you have your cereal treats you use a mini football cookie cutter, but if you do not have one you could simply take a knife and cut the shape out by hand!

These football treats are the best for football season because they are delicious and the perfect addition to any platter during the game. You could even dip these into my football nutella board or my football peanut butter dip! These are dipped in chocolate with frosting laces – the perfect football dessert.

Ingredients Needed

  • Rice Krispies: You can actually use any flavor your want.
  • Mini Marshmallows: Marshmallows are the main ingredient in Rice Krispie Treats – they are what makes them gooey and chewy.
  • Unsalted Butter: You can also use margarine.
  • Chocolate Chips: Once you melt the chocolate and dip the cereal treats they’ll look like footballs. You can also use chocolate buttercream frosting.

How to make Cereal Treats

  • Make your cereal treat mixture in a large pot. Melt butter and miniature marshmallows together over medium low heat, then stir vanilla extract and cereal into the marshmallow mixture.
  • Press into two 9-inch square pans. This makes them thinner than using a 9×13-inch pan, making them easier to cut into a football shape.
  • Cut the treats into football shapes using a cookie cutter, or you can break of rectangles and form them into the shape of a football.
  • Melt chocolate candy melts and dip each football into the candy. Use cookie icing or melted white chocolate to pipe the laces onto the footballs.

Expert Tips

  • When using marshmallows, the fresher the better. Stale marshmallows won’t be as gooey. This goes for the cereal too!
  • When you are baking the cereal treats, line the pan with foil or parchment paper and spray with cooking oil so that they won’t stick!
  • Chocolate melts best when it is being stirred every 30 seconds. You can also use chocolate chips or baking chocolate.

FAQs

Can you freeze these treats?

You can! Freeze them in an airtight container for up to one month.

Can I use big marshmallows?

You can, but you will need to cut them into smaller pieces first.

Football Rice Krispie Treats Recipe

Make my go-to cereal treat recipe and cut them into football shapes!
Course Dessert, Snack
Cuisine American
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Total Time 15 minutes
Calories 298kcal
Cost $6

Ingredients

  • 9 cups (237g) Rice Krispies Cereal
  • 20 ounces (566g) mini marshmallows, divided
  • 8 tablespoons (113g) unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon (15ml) vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces chocolate candy melts
  • White Frosting for decorating (see note)

Instructions

  • Line two 9-inch pans with foil or parchment and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Measure out cereal and place in a large bowl.
  • Measure out 15 ounces (1 ½ packages) mini marshmallows and set aside.
  • Melt the butter over medium heat in a large saucepan. Then add the marshmallows and stir until melted. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  • Add cereal and stir to coat with the marshmallow mixture. Stir in remaining marshmallows and immediately pour into prepared pans. Press firmly to compact. Tip: spray wax paper with nonstick cooking spray so you can press without it sticking to your hands.
  • Let set until firm. Remove from pan using foil and remove foil from the bottoms. Use a football shaped cookie cutter to cut shapes.
  • Melt chocolate according to package directions (I like using a paper bowl and melting on 50% power in 30 second increments, stirring after each). Dip each football in the chocolate and place on a wax paper lined cookie sheet. Let harden, then add the laces using frosting.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. To freeze, let cool completely then cut into bars and wrap each individual bar in wax paper and freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months.

Video

Notes

  • Use any flavor Rice Krispies cereal.
  • You can use any size marshmallows, just make sure you’re only using 15 ounces in the actual mixture – you’ll want mini ones to mix in or you’ll have to slice large ones to fold in at the end.
  • These stay extra gooey but will get stale if not stored properly.
  • Only use FRESH marshmallows and not-stale cereal for best results.
  • You can use chocolate chips in place of the melts, or use chocolate frosting.
  • I used a can of icing in a piping bag for the laces, but you can also use cookie icing or melted white chocolate.

This Cannoli Dip is an easy sweet dip that is reminiscent of the inside of a cannoli! It is the best no bake recipe to make for a potluck or get together!

Easy Cannoli Dip Recipe

This recipe is an easy dessert dip: It tastes just like cannoli filling because it uses real ricotta cheese like you would find in an actual cannoli! It has the best flavor and pairs great with dippers of any kind, like any cracker or cookie! The dippers can replicate traditional cannoli shells to make this recipe the best!

Cannoli cream dip is the perfect sweet treat to put on dessert board or to put out at a party. It is a must make recipe for a party or even just yourself. This recipe is the best cannoli dip recipe you will find and everyone you serve it to will love it!

cannoli dip ingredients laid out on a marble countertop.

Ingredients Needed

  • Cream Cheese: Make sure it’s room temperature to avoid lumps. Do not use low-fat or fat-free cream cheese.
  • Ricotta Cheese: Make sure it’s room temperature and only use whole milk ricotta cheese.
  • Powdered Sugar: To sweeten the dip
  • Vanilla Extract: You can also substitute or add almond extract, or even some orange zest.
  • Mini Chocolate Chips: Mimics the coating on the outside of a cannoli
  • Dippers: Like Walkers Shortbread Cookies or other dippers – if you can find waffle cone pieces, those are super similar to cannoli shells.

How to Make Homemade Cannoli Dip

  • Beat cream cheese until smooth using a hand mixer. Mix in ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips. The mixture will be a bit lumpy from the ricotta cheese.
  • Serve in a bowl with cookies for dipping.
  • Optional: make shortbread cookie sandwiches by filling two cookies with the cream.

Expert Tip

  • The best things to dip in this recipe would be: Walkers Shortbread Cookies, Nilla Wafers, graham crackers, chocolate chip cookies, or any other cracker or cookie! Even strawberries or apples would taste good!
  • Make a cookie sandwich with leftover dip! Take two cookies and sandwich some of this dip in the middle–it is so good!
  • Do not use low fat ricotta or low fat cream cheese – these are thinner and will cause the dip to be too wet.
  • Decorate the top with some chopped pistachios for an even more authentic look.

FAQs

How long will cannoli dip last?

Store this in the refrigerator in an airtight container and it will last about 3 days.

Should I strain the ricotta cheese for cannoli?

You don’t have to for the dip but if you want it to last longer or be thicker, then strain it. Place 3 layers of paper towels or a cheesecloth in a strainer and add the ricotta, let it sit for a few hours until the water drains out.

If you need a recipe to add to your dessert board during the holiday season, don’t overlook this one. They are the perfect bite-size appetizer that meets dessert and they are so easy to make! If you need them day of–this is the recipe for you!

You do not even have to turn the oven on if you don’t want to, all you need is a fridge! Dessert cheeseballs are the best – once you chill them for a half hour, they are good to go! They are mess free too because I stuck a pretzel rod in each one so they are easy to pick up. Everyone who has one will be asking for the recipe–I promise!

ingredients in peanut butter cheeseball pops laid on a marble counter.

Ingredients Needed

  • Cream Cheese: This is the base of your cheese balls – make sure it’s softened.
  • Peanut Butter: Creamy or chunky, your choice, but don’t use a natural peanut butter, only one that is no stir.
  • Graham Cracker Crumbs: These help bind the peanut butter balls.
  • Powdered Sugar: Make sure you don’t pack your confectioners’ sugar.
  • Sprinkles: Chocolate and colorful! Whatever you’d like to use!
  • Pretzel Rods: Makes them easy to eat – no toothpicks needed.

How to make Peanut Butter Bites

  • Mix cream cheese, and peanut butter until mixed. Mix in graham cracker crumbs and vanilla extract. Add powdered sugar and 1 teaspoon milk; mix until combined.
  • Scoop 1 tablespoon sized balls onto a cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Roll each ball with your hands, then roll in sprinkles. The sprinkles won’t want to stick, so you need to press and roll at the same time, then re-roll the ball between your hands.
  • Place a pretzel stick in each ball. Chill for at least 30 minutes before picking them up by the pretzel rod.

  • Plan ahead of time so this recipe can have its proper 30 minutes in the freezer!
  • You can also dip these in chocolate to make a truffle if you want!

Easy Fall Snack – Apple Nachos!

Apples are a staple ingredient for me in the fall, but there are so many to choose from! The best thing about apple recipes is that, most of the time, you can use whatever apples you like. I love Granny Smith and Fuji, but go ahead and use your favorite.

Although you can use store bought caramel and chocolate sauce, I totally recommend making my homemade versions! They are so good!

ingredients in apple nachos on a marble counter.

Ingredients Needed

  • Apples: Use your favorite kind.
  • Caramel sauce: Checkout my 3 ingredient caramel if you want to make it homemade.
  • Chocolate sauce or you can use hot fudge!
  • Chopped nuts for garnish: Hazelnuts are my favorite!

Apple Nachos Toppings

  • Any chopped nuts like hazelnuts, pecans, and walnuts.
  • Add peanut butter on top. To make it thinner, put it in the microwave for a few seconds. This would also work with Nutella or Biscoff too.
  • You could crush up any cracker, like graham crackers.

How to make apple nachos

  • Core and slice apples. Arrange as desired on a serving platter.
  • Drizzle apples with caramel and chocolate sauce.
  • Sprinkle with nuts.
  • Serve immediately. Will last a few hours at room temperature.

Expert Tips

  • Core the apples before slicing to give the best results.
  • Theme this recipe for any event or holiday for putting the apples in a fun shape, as opposed to just laying them out.
  • Sprinkles would be a fun way to dress these up too.

FAQs

Can I make apple nachos ahead of time?

No, this recipe needs to be served immediately. They can last a few hours at room temperature before the apples start getting soggy or brown.
